“The Beachouse” Lock-in – Friday 2nd November

The Somerton SLSC Fund-raising committee are pleased to advise that after last year’s success, the Club are again providing a lock-in at The Beachouse, Glenelg for only $22 per child. Registration will be held at the Somerton Surf Club upstairs in the Bistro from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Saturday 13th October.  New members welcome – club members will be on hand to answer all your queries about our junior (nipper) program, Patrols, Awards, Proficiencies and social membership.  PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS ALSO 1ST DAY OF PATROLS; so come ready to be vigilant. Limited merchandise will be available as some new stock is still to arrive.  Our fund-raising committee will be on hand to sell you tickets to the famous “Beachouse” lock-in coming up in November and raffle tickets.  See you there!  All enquiries to info@somertonslsc.org.au Rob McBride, Hon. City to Somerton Club Event We’ve all seen a glimpse of good weather these past few weeks (rain aside) as the days are becoming longer and warmer. With Spring only a fortnight away, it’s time to rid ourselves of the winter blues and start building momentum for what will be another great season of surf. As a nice way to reconvene after the break and revive the Somerton spirit, we’d like to get as many clubbies involved in the City to Bay Fun Run, and finish the day off at the Club with the bar open, a BBQ and some beach games with friends and family. The Somerton Shop is well stocked with bathers and board vests. However, if you anticipate needing new items prior to State Titles, please get them now to avoid disappointment. Nylon lycra is the preferred material for surf lifesaving activities and this is the material used for our club bathers. However, club bathers are NOT chlorine resistant so don’t wear them in the pool! We still have a limited number of 50 year t-shirts and polos for the bargain price of $20. There are several women’s sizes and men’s shirts are mainly small or medium – perfect for teens. Be QUICK!
