The Rescue Water Craft (RWC) Service conducts regular surveillance patrols and rescue missions in the Metropolitan, Mid South and Far South Coast areas. The RWC Service works closely with the volunteer beach patrols of clubs and actively supports the SLSSA strategy of making South Australian beaches safer. The Service works closely with other support service groups eg, Lifesaver Jet Rescue Boats and Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter Rescue Service. We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and proficient Surf Life Savers to undertake training and operational duties as part of this Service. This is a demanding and challenging position. As a RWC Operator you will be expected to complete rostered volunteer RWC patrols on weekends and public holidays, attend training sessions … 
Another Apply First Aid course is planned for members on Saturday 20th April 2013. If you plan to do your Bronze Medallion in the next 12 months and if you missed out on the last course, it is strongly recommended that you attend this course. The cost as set by State Centre is $75. Somerton has 5 new Bronze members! Congratulations to Will William Twizell, Chelsea Matthews, Chloe Neville, Michaela Matthews and Laura Chigwidden. They are very competent Bronze members and certainly impressed their assessor. Well done to Will and Laura, who even backed up an excellent assessment with solid performances in terrible weather at their first Senior Carnival as Bronze Medallion holders. There is an Apply First Aid course going ahead for members on Sat 9 Feb, 2013. There are 5 places left and any member wishing to complete their Bronze Medallion this season or early next season should do an Apply First Aid course ASAP.
