The Somerton SLSC and the South Australian Aquatic and Leisure Centre have recently established a partnership which will hopefully be of benefit to the club, it’s members and the SAALC. Somerton is already holding coached swimming sessions at the SAALC on Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:00pm and a specialist session on Monday evenings for pool championship competitors. Somerton members are required to pay the entry fee to the SAALC for these sessions. However, the SAALC are offering Somerton members a very special deal on membership to help with this cost. Congratulations to Somerton’s newest Bronzies; a little chilly in the water today but all survived and passed their assessment. Well done Charlie Fletcher, Jesse Tarasuik, Matt Book, Holly Tull and Lucy Smith. Thank you to the Assessors, Steven Rypp (West Beach) & Karen Willmott (Seacliff). A big thanks to IRB driver, Maddy Mcbride for providing water cover. Congrats also to Lucy Manning who passed her Bronze on Thursday night at Seacliff. Aplications Open For RWC Operators Support Service Crew (Jet Ski)

The Rescue Water Craft (RWC) Service conducts regular surveillance patrols and rescue missions in the Metropolitan, Mid South and Far South Coast areas. The RWC Service works closely with the volunteer beach patrols of clubs and actively supports the SLSSA strategy of making South Australian beaches safer. The Service works closely with other support service groups eg, Lifesaver Jet Rescue Boats and Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter Rescue Service. We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and proficient Surf Life Savers to undertake training and operational duties as part of this Service. This is a demanding and challenging position. As a RWC Operator you will be expected to complete rostered volunteer RWC patrols on weekends and public holidays, attend training sessions …
