Somerton Kiosk

Volunteer surf life savers from our club have been patrolling this stretch of coastline between King Street (North Brighton) and The Broadway (South Glenelg) since 1960.

The Club Kiosk as it was originally known, was first established and managed  by volunteers Dot & Dean Hammond to supply food and drinks to our patrolling members on weekends.  Today it supplies the patrolling members and the wider community.

All profits from our facilities are returned directly to the club for the ongoing provision of surf life saving patrols to our local community.

With a long history of 50 years and after a complete rebuild, the Somerton Surf Life Saving Club re-opened in 2005. Perfectly positioned on absolute beach frontage with sensational ocean views.

The Somerton Kiosk is fast becoming an iconic café and a regular destination for locals and visitors alike. The kiosk operates daily (summer months) for breakfast and lunch, seven days a week, with a great atmosphere, fantastic coffee and vast views over the waters of Gulf St Vincent.

This season we introduced our new manager Penny Wallbridge, a current member and an excellent addition to the team at the club.  We have received fabulous feedback from members and the public about the great service and new menu. A day at the beach has never looked so good!

With Autumn approaching, we have altered the trading Hours for the Somerton Beach Kiosk to:

OPENING HOURS:

Monday 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.

Tuesday – closed

Wednesday 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.

Thursday 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.

Friday 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.

Saturday 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Sunday 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Public Holidays 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

 

Somerton Bistro

Bistro open every Friday from 5pm. Meals from 6pm – Everyone VERY welcome

Select a wine from our fantastic wine list or enjoy an icy cold beer on the balcony whilst watching the sunset. What a great way to end the week. Our Friday evening menu is seasonally driven and prepared with flair by our in-house chefs showcasing the best quality ingredients and delivered by our friendly volunteer bar and waiting staff.
